Who We Are
The Medicaid Innovation Collaborative (MIC) aims to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals on Medicaid by connecting the ecosystem to tech-enabled innovations.
In doing so, we believe we can change the way the Medicaid system addresses health inequities.
Health equity ensures that every individual has the means and opportunity to attain their full health potential and no one is disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances.

The Medicaid Innovation Collaborative (MIC) is a program of Acumen America, a non-profit impact investment firm focused on serving low-income communities throughout the United States by supporting innovators tackling issues of health, workforce development, and financial services.
Medicaid is at the core of Acumen America’s investment strategy, and MIC grew out of that work. The program leans into Acumen’s goal of systemic change and enables greater collaboration between Medicaid and the kinds of ventures Acumen supports.
The Medicaid Innovation Collaborative Advisory Board is composed of leading experts in Medicaid, care delivery, health tech, and impact investment advisors. The board has decades of leadership, and expertise and will provide critical guidance and support to shape MIC’s vision, strategy, and operations.
Medicaid Innovation Collaborative is a non-profit organization committed to delivering innovation to Medicaid at no additional cost to states and managed care organizations. We are primarily supported through grant funding sourced on a rolling basis.
